a year under Mr Chua's Maths Coaching, I

Before Joining Maths Specialist...
I never like Maths in my life. I did not have the determination
and patience to solve Maths problems. Since Primary
3,
it was common
to see 'Red' in my Maths assignments and
tests. I even submitted a blank Maths exam
paper to my teacher
as I didn't even know how to do one Maths
question, and scored my first ‘ZERO’ in my
life. I totally lost interest in Maths.
Failing Maths is nothing to me.
After Joining Maths Specialist...
It was my friend, Petrina Ong, who introduced me to Maths
Specialist. I have quite a number of Maths
tuition before but none
of them worked. All of them just threw me
tons of Maths questions and the teachers
just simply went through the
questions. What make Maths Specialist
different? It made use of total different
approach. It helped me gain back my determination and
patience
to do Maths. With that I am able to focus
and 'conquer'
Maths. I also realise how Maths is so
closely linked to the law of nature. No one
told me that! By learning Maths, I am learning
more about life. This is FiloMaths. With all
these elements combined, I managed to improve
and score my first A1 in Maths
despite my bad foundation. Now, even when
I have a very challenging
Maths question in
front of
me,
I can sit down and do it with the 'Never say
Die' attitude. Mr Chua once
told me ‘Success depends on how much you
WANT to succeed and
not how much you CAN succeed’. It is great
influence to me. Thank
to Mr Chua.

When I was in Secondary 1, I hated Maths and I failed almost all my Maths Tests. I got F9s! Once I enrolled with Maths Specialist and applied the Filomaths Tactics, miracle happened! I managed to achieve B for Maths. I was taught how to appreciate Maths and I conquered Maths. I remembered a simple but profound line: "Everything is Linked”. Indeed, it is
true in Mathematics. Only recently did I get my A1 in my Maths Test!

Before joining...
Since
P3, my Maths results began to deteriorate. Since then, I began to lose confidence in myself.
I went
to many tuition
centres but there still wasn't any improvement showing. They just threw me tons
of
homework.
I thought passing
Maths was merely luck and achieving 'A' in Maths is almost impossible.
I joined
Maths Specialist in 2005. Initially, I thought that it was just another
Maths tuition which will only try to make me pass but will be to no avail. However, I soon
realized that Maths taught in Maths Specialist was different from the rest. It
used Philosophy that seem unrelated to Maths. However, under the explanation of
FiloMaths Founder, Mr. Chua, I learnt how the philosophy can be applied in Maths as well as other areas of Life. I am using it every moment
from then on. He taught me
how to learn and not what to learn, so that I can learn on my own. I was taught
strategies on How to Interpret Maths Question. After learning, I can 'conquer'
almost all Maths questions. Although I have poor Maths foundation, I have
successfully achieved B4. Passing Maths is easy NOW!
Did he only
teach Maths, you may wonder. No. He taught me philosophy that can be applied both academically
and non-academically. I was inspired to be independent. Now, I completed hosting
and creating my very personal website with assistance from Mr. Chua. He is
definitely a teacher of life.

Before

Just Passed! Once I joined, my result

and E 'O' Level Maths.
The fear of Maths has gone since I joined
Maths Specialist. The difference in
FiloMaths is that it does not
focus simply
practise tons of question but another approaches observe questions, aware the
steps of doing and recognizing patterns. I
understand the importance of staying calm
when examinations and tests are coming. He
always friendly to all his students so that they
feel

Before
knowing FiloMaths, I was uninterested in

2002.
WHY?
... I
was trained to observe the Maths questions and to my
astonishment, I found that basically all questions
are similar and there are
patterns in how the
questions are asked and the steps of doing. Most
importantly, I was taught how to do a proper
presentation to avoid carelessness and to
think better. I indeed improved and get
Distinction for both A.Maths and E.Maths. Mr
Chua - a teacher who go beyond
his scope of duty. He even answer any questions
that I asked him outside the tuition time.

Before joining Maths Specialist...
A failure in studies
and sports before entering Xinmin Secondary School. With no confidence and
patience, I gave up
easily. The only EM2 student in my batch to be promoted to Normal(Technical)
.
No sense of regret.
After joining Maths Specialist...
After being coached by Mr.
Chua in Maths, my results improved
tremendously. Not only for my
Maths, my
other subjects improved. From almost Grade "F" for my studies to all Grade "A".
Since my grade improved, my leadership
quality followed due to a boost
in
self-confidence.
I also took part in numerous
sports such as cycling,
swimming, kayaking, rock climbing & Wushu.
With a gradual increase of
self-confidence, my interpersonal skill
and the ability to complete any task assigned to me greatly improved. I am
now more
patient in doing things.

Eddy Lee got an E for his PSLE Maths
and an

for his 'N' Level Maths. Since Sec 3, his highest
Mark for his CA and SA were

90%
